Our
We met almost 15 years ago at Saints Faith, Hope and Charity youth program. I can pinpoint the moment my crush on Sarah began. She was lip singing Toxic by Britney Spears while we were on a ski retreat and I just couldn't get her out of my head.
Luckily Evan (my brother) and Maddy (Sarah's sister) were there to facilitate our young love. Once Evan found out about my crush, he grabbed the phone, dialed the Romano household and threw me the phone, telling me to ask Sarah to watch a movie. Something I would have never been able to muster up the courage for.
Our freshman year "relationship" didn't last more than a couple of weeks, due to my awkward 14 yr old self. But, the damage was done. I never would get over my crush on Sarah, and we remained close throughout the years.
Fast forward to...
Story
New Years Eve 2012, Sarah and I were at different parties. We missed the midnight kiss, but were determined to see each other. Sarah was was not having any luck getting a taxi in the cold to come to me, so I decided to split and go find her. Once we tracked each other down, we spent the next few hours freezing our butts off, bar hopping to warm up, and sharing cabs with strangers to make our way back home. With anyone else that night would have been miserable, but with Sarah that night will be one of the most memorable.
Since then we have had many times together that I will never forget, including romantic trips to Italy (with my parents), Vienna, Budapest and Prague, Sarah teaching me how to ski in Utah, fly fishing in Aspen, touring NYC with the Romano family, and surfing in the frigid waters of Vancouver. I can't wait for the adventures still to come in our lives. As long as Sarah is by my side I will be smiling and loving life.
